  It’s believed that the nearby hot springs all come from the bottom of the lake, and the water temperature is exceedingly high even in winter. Thus, when temperature drops, steam rises from the lake surface and create fantastic views. The lake “Kinrin” literally means “fish scales”, as it’s glittering in golden colors alike scales.
